A little bit about our local suppliers…

Holistic Earth

Holistic Earth is a wellbeing brand based in Macclesfield created by the lovely Melissa, who makes all of her holistic products in her home studio. Her candles, wax melts and soaps are beautifully scented, as well as being natural and environmentally friendly. Her soaps are versatile and can be used as shampoo bars for shiny, healthy hair, and the scented wax-melt hangers can be popped in a oil burner to enjoy a festively-fragranced home!

 Burt’s Cheese

Just a few miles from the Roebuck in Ollerton is where founder Claire Burt and Cheese-Maker Tom Partridge produce a range of award winning Cheeses. It was a career in the dairy industry that inspired Claire to follow her passion for cheese-making, and after winning Gold for Burt’s Blue Cheese at the International Cheese Show 2010, she decided to pursue the business full-time. Burt’s Cheese was recently named by the Observer Food Monthly as Best Producer, and their Burt’s Blue is featured on cheese boards across many of our pubs.

Harry’s Hot Chocolate

Harry’s Drinks Company is the brain child of Harry Blake from Nantwich in Cheshire, and was founded in 2012 as the result of his quest to make the perfect chocolate drink! Their hot chocolates and milkshakes are made using the finest ingredients from the nearest sources, such as locally picked strawberries and milk from British farms. Their products contain nothing artificial, zero palm oil, and having used their hot chocolate in our pubs for many years now, we really do think it is the best hot chocolate on the market!

Mr Filbert’s

Roasted in Somerset, we think Mr Filbert’s multi award-winning snacks and nuts are the perfect accompaniment to a G&T! With a range of delicious offerings, this year we have chosen their French Rosemary Almonds for you to enjoy. Stupendously fragrant, with punchy sweet and savoury notes, this aromatic treat is simply delicious! Nibble alongside own Cholmondeley Arms Gin and tonic.

Big Hill Distillery

Did you know our Cholmondeley Gin is distilled and bottled right here in Mobberley? Big Hill Distillery create the well-known small batch gin, Spirit Of George, in their distillery at the Church Inn. The gin was conceived at a time when the Gin renaissance was already in full-swing by founders Dave and Ben, and their quest was to create something very special to stand out in the market. In 2020, they partnered with us to create our very own gin, named after our gin pub, the Cholmondeley Arms! A contemporary dry gin, the provenance of the gin is the local Alderley Edge honey, along with botanicals such as cinnamon, coriander seed, liquorice root, clove and ginger root. It was recently awarded a bronze by the IWSC… a huge achievement indeed! Pour over ice and serve yours with Indian tonic and lemon zest.

Double Dutch

Our tonic of choice here at the Roebuck! Born and raised in the birthplace of gin, the Netherlands, the founders of Double Dutch tonics grew up alongside a lively world of drinks delivering constant innovations, but felt mixers were often an afterthought. They made it their mission to create a range of versatile mixers with new and unpredictable flavour pairings, and that aim led to Double Dutch, a company which ensures you never drink dull again. We love supporting this great vibrant business, and hope you will too!

Peter’s Yard

Nothing goes with cheese as well as Peter’s Yard crispbreads! Made in an artisan bakery in the UK following the original Swedish recipe, these crispbreads begin with a 45-year-old sourdough starter, are fermented for 16 hours, and crafted in small batches without shortcuts or artificial ingredients. They were created by Swedish baker Peter Ljungquist, who wanted to revive traditional baking methods and recipes, turning away from commercial yeast and return to slower, more rewarding techniques. His unique and delicious crispbreads were brought to the UK by couple Wendy and Ian, who developed the brand into what it is today.

The Bay Tree

We get asked about our chutney so much it was one of the first things we introduced to our pub-hub! Founder Emma Macdonald grew up making preserves with her mother, and her passion for discovering exciting and innovative flavours saw her travel the world as a chef, before launching The Bay Tree. We love her range of chutneys and relishes, and use several across our pubs. When the Bay Tree’s Sticky Figgy Chutney arrives to the Roebuck we always know the festive season is truly upon us!

Cocoa Cabana

Cocoa Cabana is an award-winning chocolatier in the heart of Didsbury, offering sweet treats and handmade chocolates. The have become well-know throughout the North West for the love they put into their decadent, artisan chocolates with their own Cocoa Cabana twist! We are really excited to be supporting this delicious business in this year’s hampers, and hope you’ll love them as much as we do!

Stubbs Mugs

The iconic pub mugs which our guests have enjoyed hot drinks out of across all of our pubs! Stubbs Mugs are a small business located on the picturesque North Norfolk coast, and make the finest bone china mugs. We hope you’ll enjoy sipping your hot chocolate from yours this winter. The perfect keepsake for fans of the Roebuck, these mugs are only available in our hampers so you won’t see them anywhere else!

Tweedmill

No country home or summer picnic is complete without a Tweedmill blanket! Used throughout our pubs to keep guests warm when dining al fresco, and as throws in our bedrooms, we love this brand and the beautiful blankets they make. Situated next to Flint Castle in the historic county of Flintshire, their designs are influenced by the colours and serenity of the countryside. This year’s recycled wool blanket is sustainable, exceptionally well made, and a piece to treasure for years to come.
