I’m loathe to describe this lovely place as a supermarket, though that’s what it is. Think of Waitrose and then think better! Filled with local suppliers and produce, the owners of this Northern chain have a great attitude towards supporting new, local businesses. They’re always stocking different products so you’ll often find something you’ve never seen before.

They even have a Best of Booths festival to celebrate their diverse range of products and the passionate people who are behind them. Meet the makers and sample their delicious goods.

Although this is mainly a supermarket, their patisserie counter is a place you’ll struggle to tear your eyes (and rumbling stomachs) away from! All those lovely cakes are also served in their café – so this is somewhere well worth a visit for a potter, followed by some afternoon tea.

Opening times: Monday – Saturday: 7am – 9pm, Sunday 9:30am – 4pm

A pretty high street with a wide range of independent shops and eateries. The charity shops are a highlight and well worth a rummage around – you’re likely to find some very high-class, designer items at very reasonable prices!

Close to some beautiful Cheshire countryside, National Trust buildings and lovely walks, you can get out and about before having a potter around the shops and grabbing a bite to eat. See our ‘Eateries’ page for our recommendations of where to eat in the village and find a map of a lovely walk you can do from the village on our ‘National Trust and Stately Homes’ page.
