December 22, 2015April 4, 2017 by ballyboes The Roebuck before the restoration another photo of the interiorDamp is causing plaster to fall offDamp is showing in the barn buildingsOne can begin to now see the attractiveness of the gardenSomeone liked deer printsSomeone liked red wallpaper tooThe bar looks sorry for itselfthe final refurbishment wasn't done with much thought for the buildingThe Gardens have been mowed and tidied as they were so over grownThe interior had been stripped out before our acquisitionThe land at the rear of the Roebuck is fenced off and looking much tidierThe out buildings have such potentialThe out buildings have suffered from nearly two years of closureThe outside is looking very tired and we cannot wait to get started restoring this once great buildingThe pathway to the terraces is now revealed have been overgrownThe pub was left like the Mary Celeste...beer in the lines...food in the fridgesThe wood decking has been removed as it was housing rodents and was badly vandalisedThis terrace was revealed after clearing moss and overgrowth in refurb 0 comments
November 26, 2015April 4, 2017 by ballyboes Refurbishment The full strip out has been done already and the frames for the new bedrooms are up tooAll the wood left over is recycledThe original fire place has been stripped out.The second ground floor bedroom is mapped outThe old radiators wait to be reinstalled one of the new bedrooms.The raised modern pine floor has been removed to reveal what we hoped for....a larger amount of the original tiled floor that can be the bistro remain the bistro floor.All the toilets are stripped out to reveal to very old brick wallsThe signatures of the WWII American airmen have been partly revealed. These had been covered over by previous schemes. The bulk of them are lost forever sadly as previous owner painted and plastered over themMore airman signatures are revealed. Some have fallen away from the ceiling so we gave collected them to frame in the restored Roebuck Inn.All the upstairs has had the plaster removed and the brickwork looks fantastic...One can now see through from one end of the upstairs to the otherThe stairs down to the loos are being stripped back now as the toilets become unisex An old fire has been found on the upper floor which can be incorporated in to a new bedroom in refurb 0 comments
