What’s in the box:

Henners Brut Sparkling Wine 2021

The perfect celebration wine from English vineyard Henners, based in East Sussex. Sourdough aromas combine with crunchy green apple fruit and toasted brioche to provide a wonderfully complex and moreish sparkling wine.

Araldica Barbera d’Asti ‘Ceppi Storici’ 2019

Ceppi Storici comes from vineyards in the Monferrato Hills in the south of the province of Asti, Piemonte. Warm, spicy aromas of blueberries and plums, pair with subtle, smoky notes. The palate combines generous ripe fruit with lively acidity, with juicy cherry characters and spicy notes beneath.

Burlesque ‘Old Vine’ Zinfandel, Lodi 2019

Great value, fruit packed Zinfandel whose soulful routine never disappoints. The grapes are selected from old vine Zinfandel vineyards in central California. Expect aromas of vanilla, cracked black pepper and dark damson fruit. On the palate this wine is round and fleshy, beautifully balanced and packed full with robust red fruit flavours and a lick of oak.

Pablo y Walter Malbec 2020

A celebration of Mendoza, Argentina, this exceptional Malbec is the lovechild of Argentinean winemaker Walter Bressia and Boutinot winemaker Guillaume Letang. This wine is a really pure expression of Malbec – deep red-almost purple in colour and wonderfully aromatic with lifted violet, red currant and cassis notes. Muy, muy fantasticó – richly bloody, vibrant, Latin and velveteen.

Ontañón Ecológico Rioja [Organic] 2019

Super ripe organic fruit and very much a modern style of Rioja. The Tempranillo grapes are sourced from certified organic vineyards at altitudes of around 500m. Ecológico spends five months in American and French oak barrels, producing ripe plum and dark cherry fruit flavours with a twist of spice and gentle tannins. A full-flavoured modern style of Rioja.

Showdown ‘Man with the Ax’ Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

The ‘Man with the Ax’ is the nickname for the King of Diamonds in Poker-parlance, and in California, Cabernet is undoubtedly ‘King’. Rich cassis fruit and a good lick of oak make this a plush, easy-drinking example of why it is so highly prized.

Domaine Mas Barrau Cabernet Franc, Pays du Gard [Organic] 2019

Cabernet Franc is much under-rated! Textured and luxurious, this is a sophisticated wine with a incredibly long and layered palette with bramble fruit, bay and a touch of sweet prune on the finish.

La Ruchette Dorée, Côtes du Rhône Rosé 2020

Côtes du Rhône is one of the best loved quality French regions. Although known primarily for red wine, the rosés, especially those from garrigue-strewn vineyards such as these, are a southern French treat. A vibrant, luscious, fruity and full flavoured rosé with redcurrant, wildflower and strawberry fruit characters.

Clos de L’Église, Mâcon-Charnay 2020

Clos de l’Église hails from the southerly village appellation of Mâcon-Charnay, sourced from 30-50 year old vines from a single, once walled vineyard, sited next to a church. This is an elegant, unoaked Mâcon-Charnay, with ripe citrus notes on the nose, and a complex palate which balances richness with a gently herbaceous and mineral streak.

Adobe Reserva Viognier, Central Valley [Organic] 2020

High quality organic fruit is sourced from Emiliana’s vineyards in Casablance and Colchagua. A delicious, fresh, spicy and aromatic Viognier. Pale yellow in colour with a floral notes of honeysuckle and jasmine. The mid-weight palate has plenty of peach and nectarine fruit with gentle star annnise spice. Balanced with refreshing acidty on the finish.

Sun & Air Sauvignon Blanc, Western Cape 2020

Sunshine in a bottle, which we all undeniably need at this time of year! This wine is an aromatic blend of Sauvignon Blanc from the Western Cape. Expect a tropical nose with hints of freshly cut grass and asparagus, with a palate that experiences a fresh, crisp acidity.

La Ruchette Dorée, Côtes du Rhône Blanc 2020

La Ruchette Dorée Côtes du Rhône Blanc has been made by Julien Dugas, a true southern Rhône winemaker. The nose is pretty and delicate, with just hints of hedgerow flowers. Flavours are nuanced and refined rather than overt, and careful use of oak adds texture and vinosity to this very drinkable white.
