Fridays never looked so good! ✨ It is the perfec Fridays never looked so good! ✨ It is the perfect weather for hiding away in our ‘Potting Shed’ with a bottle of Picpoul, a few small plates, and a good friend or two! 🥂
Meet the team: Beccie ✨ You might have got to Meet the team: Beccie ✨ You might have got to know our deputy manager Beccie in the pub-hub during lockdown. She was the smiling face and welcoming voice at the end of the phone, taking ‘Just-Heat’ and fish and chips orders, boxing up wine, and selling local produce in the shop 😁 Beccie started at the Roebuck Inn in the midst of the first lockdown, and instantly became known for her coffee skills with customers returning day after day for her legendary flat whites. (If you haven’t tried one, we have heard by some it is the best coffee in Cheshire!) With a background in both retail and hospitality, Beccie is the perfect fit for our busy establishment! “I love that there is just so much to the Roebuck, with the rooms, events, garden, and pub-hub. There is a whole side people don’t see, and such a lot of depth in a small space.” But as well as looking after our hub, Beccie’s favourite thing about working at the Roebuck is chatting to the residents of our 6 boutique bedrooms. As an avid traveller, she knows what makes a good hotel experience, and genuinely enjoys getting to know our guests. In 2016, Beccie moved to New Zealand, and from there onto Australia and Canada. She spent 5 years living overseas, working in cafes, restaurants, and hotels. Her favourite place was Queenstown, New Zealand, and she loves meeting people who she can share travel stories with (like a few residents last week who were from the very same town!). Monday 26th July and Tuesday 27th July – For two Monday 26th July and Tuesday 27th July – For two days only our kitchen will be closed! ✨ We wanted to let you know that we are having to vary our kitchen opening hours at the moment and our kitchen will be closed this Monday and Tuesday. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience, but due to the level of trade that we are fortunate to be enjoying but with a limited team of chefs we have decided to close on these days to give them a break. As you may well know there is a national shortage of hospitality staff, so we would like to thank our team for working so hard in such difficult times. We will be open for drinks as normal on Monday and Tuesday, and food service will resume on Wednesday! We do hope that you all understand. The Roebuck Inn team x
Big news! The Roebuck Inn has made it to the secon Big news! The Roebuck Inn has made it to the second round of judging for the Great British Pub Awards 2021! ✨ The team are very excited to be in the second round of fierce judging in this year’s awards for the categories of ‘Community Pub of the Year 2021’ and ‘Best Pub with Rooms 2021’!🤞🏼 Why we’d love to win the community pub of the year: In 2020 we became a community ‘Pub Hub’ and remained open for every one of the 34 weeks of lockdown. During this time we sold and delivered in excess of 20,000 ‘Just Heat’ dishes out to the community! 🥡 Wine, ale and lager was sold ‘to go’, and even a ‘Shrub Hub’ appeared, selling anything from Lavender, to geraniums and the odd bag of compost! 🪴 We had a busy time during the lockdowns, with the shop and ‘Just-Heat’ meals, a hamper business, fish and chips, hot drinks to go, walkers baps, and ‘Just Heat’ Roasts on Sundays. We got to know our community so well during this time, and will forever be grateful for your support. This award would be for YOU as much as it would be for us, because what an amazing community we have! Why we’d love to win Best Pub with Rooms 2021: After many acknowledgements from @sawdaystravel, @bookingcom and the National press recently, and lots of happy customers, we would love to win in this category to really put our boutique bedrooms on the map as a top UK staycation destination! So a potential double is possible at the awards which are run by the Morning Advertiser, the Pub Industry’s oldest publication.
