Celebrating Beaujolais Nouveau at the Roebuck Inn

Mary and Tim met wine maker Franck Deboeuf by accident in a wine shop on 5th Avenue in New York in 2013.

It was Beaujolais Nouveau Day, and since this chance meeting, have always held the Beaujolais of in very high esteem.

Beaujolais Nouveau Day is a great celebration in France. Every year, on the third Thursday of November, the first wine of the harvest is released – the result of that year’s vineyards’ bounty.

The tradition began as a way to toast the demanding efforts of the vineyard and cellar workers throughout the year. A bottle of the new wine would be opened to pay tribute to their successes. Now, more than a century later, it is a global celebration that still marks that moment of closure for the season’s hard work, and is also a preview of the vintage.

Join us for a celebration of wine and food from Thursday 16th November to Saturday 19th November 2023, where we will be sharing this year’s Beaujolais Nouveau with you, alongside a specials menu devised by Head Chef Andy.
