It started with an empty pub, a Mobberley resident, and an order for 90 hampers.
We are very busy behind-the-scenes in our preparations for the season of gifting and the return of our Roebuck Inn hampers. Our hampers are the go-to luxury food and wine gift for many individuals and local businesses, and have even been gifted to a few global celebrities! But do you know how and why we started making hampers in the first place?
During lockdown, the entire bistro of the Roebuck Inn was turned into a ‘Pub-Hub’: a village shop selling everything from food and wine to even compost and shrubs. When we realised we were headed for a Christmas in lockdown we created the ‘Staycation at Home Hamper’ for people to send to loved ones they couldn’t be with that Christmas. It was a wooden suitcase filled with food, wine and local Cheshire gifts, and our very first hamper.
From this, we started taking orders for local businesses to gift their employees who were working from home. We setup a studio in the then-closed (due to lockdown) Bull’s Head, and made dozens of hampers, including an order for 90 luxury hampers for one local resident to gift his employees.
We have since opened our dedicated hamper studio, and every year have enjoyed dreaming up new hampers filled with our favourite food and drink products, as well as gifts, candles, and pampering treats!
