Building work on the Roebuck Inn commenced on Monday 14th November 2015. This was a month later than planned due to amendments to our plans for this famous building.
The builders have set about stripping out the building and you can follow the restoration via the homepage of this website.
All being well we should be ready to open in late March early April ready for some lovely spring weather hopefully!?
We are building six bedrooms, two on the ground floor and four on the first floor of the main house as well as an intimate bistro and kitchen with a training kitchen for our young chefs.
The website will be updated with news as and when it happens with the restoration pictures going up weekly.
Many visitors to the Bulls Head and indeed the Church Inn are asking what is happening with the Roebuck Inn?
All being well, work will commence in late September/early October 2015 with an aim to be open for business by March 2016. The build scheme being undertaken is the biggest we have done to date and with the added complexities of it being a grade two listed building (like the Church Inn) time has to be taken to ensure the scheme is perfect.
The addition of six guest bedrooms naturally adds time to the scheme because the infrastructure has to be built to service all the functionalities needed for boutique bedrooms. There will be two bedrooms on the ground floor and four bedrooms upstairs in the main house. This will leave room for a small intimate bistro through the original entrance seen in the old photograph above.
Obviously we do not want to spoil the surprises of this new addition to our business, but it is safe to say that the Roebuck Inn will complement the Bulls Head and the Church Inn in offering something different for guests and locals alike to enjoy.
As things progress we will let you know here on the news pages. With photos added to the gallery page….
